Book Review: After Sappho

After Sappho

Review by Ray

A totally engrossing and luminous novel about trailblazing writers and artists living in Europe at the turn of the century and into the 1920’s. Borrowing heavily from real life, and told in short, interconnected bursts that read like mini-biographies, this is fiction at its strangest – but it works magnificently. A bold, funny, occasionally heart-breaking, unabashedly queer and feminist love letter to creativity and freedom. I adored every moment of it.
