A well-paced, emotional, and beautifully written story about a mid-career ballet choreographer who is forced to confront and examine her past when she learns that her father is dying. The narrative dances between childhood, adolescence, early adulthood, and the present, allowing for a slow-burning and scandalous reveal. This novel is a gorgeous exploration of guilt, shame, and forgiveness, and of complex family dynamics, particularly between parents and their children.
