Book Review: Early Morning Riser

Early Morning Riser
by Katherine Heiny
Review by Harriet
I couldn’t resist being drawn into the rhythms of the relatively unremarkable but unrelenting lives of Jane and Duncan in small town Michigan. Heiny is so brilliant at capturing the gentle drama, tenderness and joy of people, loving and failing each other; of friendships becoming family bonds. Her keen sense of the absurd and eye for hilarious detail keep it from becoming too saccharine. It’s deliciously sweet. A heart-warmer.
