I feel that often, it takes an outsider (in this case, the British Mrs McAlpine) to truly appreciate the delights and delicacies of ones adopted country. The recipes all work, they are easy to medium difficulty and the vignettes are joyful and serve as a wonderful entrée to the recipes themselves.
