Sally Jones and the False Rose
by Jakob Wegelius
Review by Alex
This charming and quirky book is a masterclass in thoughtful, measured storytelling. Sally Jones (highly intelligent ape and ship's engineer) and her captain The Chief become embroiled in the seedy underbelly of 1920s Glasgow. This would be an excellent read aloud as a serial, or perfect for competent readers age 10+.
