This book documents 50 years of Leo Bensemann’s landscape paintings – the first time such a collection has been compiled. It is the culmination of many years spent by Caroline Otto, Leo’s daughter, gathering photographs of her father’s art and collecting information on the works and subjects. Caroline has also written an introductory essay on Leo and his landscapes and included many personal notes on his artworks. Leo was an active exhibitor in combined shows by the Canterbury artists known as The Group and a close friend of Rita Angus and many other Group members.
