Bewilderment

Review by Dave
I so enjoyed this remarkable book, especially the close relationship between the father and son. I don’t want to say anything about the plot, because there are so many potential spoilers, but I was torn twixt and tween as it all unfolded. A highly effective and inventive novel with a sad but terribly beautiful ending, full of hope. It leaves you with much to think about. Big questions about compromise, about future technologies, about the individual versus society’s needs, about bureaucracy, about what a post-conservation world might look like. And what part will this strange thing called simulation play in our future? I highly recommend it.
