Actions and Travels: How Poetry Works
by Anna Jackson
Review by Bel
The opportunity to unpack poetry with NZ poet Anna Jackson is an absolute treat, in this accessible and delightfully meandering introduction. It includes examples from Aotearoa and around the world, the modern and the classics. If you haven’t read a poem since high school, or tried to but felt you were missing something, or even wanted to have a go at writing one – this is a brilliant place to start. The writing prompts that accompany each chapter are a wonderful invitation to play. Highly recommend!
