Lou’s Reviews

Lou loves to escape into the fictional worlds of romance novels. They’re a romantic through and through, a lover of love in all of its forms and find the most joy and contentment within the pages of love stories. From contemporary romance to graphic novels to romantasy and even some young adult- as long as there’s a romantic plotline and a happy ending, they’re sold! Lou feels especially deeply toward titles embodying queer and neurodiverse identities. Some of their favourite authors include Casey McQuiston, Hannah Bonam-Young, Lyla Sage and of course, Emily Henry.

At Telling Tales, Lou is often found with the graphic novels. They love a bit of fantasy and adventure alongside some beautifully illustrated stories and a sprinkle of real-world normality. They also love picture flats, those with dry humour and particularly those from Aotearoa that surround te ao Māori. Their favourite childrens authors include Gavin Bishop, K. O’Neill, Scott Stuart, Jon Klassen and Tim Probert.
