Great Big Beautiful Life
by Emily Henry
Review by Lou
Emily Henry brings us a deeply emotional tale of mystery, resentment and heartbreak that’s centred around love. This story follows Alice and Heydon, two journalists competing for the job of their dreams: documenting the disappearance of famous Hollywood heiress Margaret Ives. She gives them both a month of her time to learn about her history and pitch their work before she decides which of them will write her biography. A family of tremendous power and copious amounts of money has countless secrets the world isn’t ready to see.
I couldn’t put this book down! The mystery of Margaret Ives alongside the love story between our protagonists provides a gripping story I needed to learn everything about. So much tragedy, so much anguish, so much romance. Another win for Emily Henry, this one may be my favourite yet.
