At times rough but always thoroughly entertaining, Until The Red Leaves Fall is a historical novel that delicately explores the struggles our Japanese-Australian protagonist experiences in 1950’s Australia. A must-read if you enjoy historical fiction that explores social issues with lush prose and charming, realistic characters. Also, it had a surprising amount of queer characters who got happy endings, always refreshing in a historical novel!
