Those Girls
By Pamela Rushby
Review by Genna
Sixteen year old Hilly has a prosperous career in writing ahead. However, hindered by the Second World War and her unsupportive parents, Hilly embraces the opportunity to join the Australian Land Army as a way to escape and contribute something useful to the war effort. Alongside her new friends Aisleen and Glad, they navigate friendships, relationships and the trials and tribulations of a new work force. A great piece of historical fiction which ultimately leaves Hilly choosing between two big decisions that will impact her future after the war.
