Two Rivers of Otautahi follows New Zealand’s second-largest city’s two main rivers from their spring sources, through their urban catchments and finally out to the estuary where they both meet and flow out to sea.
Along the way, we encounter various people who interact with the Otakaro/Avon and Opawaho/Heathcote rivers – from whitebaiters to rowers to a father and son removing trash.
Using a combination of street and landscape photography, this book aims to explore the relationships between the people of Otautahi/Christchurch and the rivers which run through their city.
