A touching novel that grasps what it means to be alive. A soul takes on the body of a 14 year old boy who has committed suicide, the life of Kobayashi is now his homestay. The soul takes on the problems that Mokoto left behind to try to piece them back together. The novel shows that despite feeling so alone there’s always someone there for you, even if they are hiding in the shadows. It shows the struggles of adolescence and gives the comfort and reassurance that we all need.
