Maxwell C. Hill’s second book again challenges conventional views of history. In this work he suggests that Maori may not have come to New Zealand in a “Great Fleet” of canoes but may have arrived aboard Chinese ships which foundered on the coast of New Zealand. “To The Ends Of The Earth – And Back Again”, cites the wreckage of a centuries-old Chinese ship found at Ruapuke and the discovery in Northland of what is believed to be an old Chinese village and also handmade bricks with Chinese markings.
