The Picture of Dorian Gray
by Oscar Wilde
Review by Māia
A story of betrayal, indulgence and the seduction of corruption, flooded with provocative philosophical musings that revere youth and beauty and challenge morality. I often find it difficult to stay engaged with classics but this one is just so juicy!! With a hedonistic main character who lusts for power, this book is shocking, ridiculous and even sometimes disgusting while being written so beautifully with Oscar Wilde’s precision and awe-struck gentleness. Great for fans of The Secret History.
