Initially I expected this book to be as bleak as the Siberian tundra – what a surprise, it’s anything but! The depth and complexity of Siberian culture is showcased here in a rambling, adventurous journey through the ages of Siberian history. Part elegy, part detective story, it’s a fascinating read. Highly recommend.
