Game Review: Spirit Island

Spirit Island
Review by Josh
Not for the faint of heart, Spirit Island is a beast of a game. It’s part deck builder, part battle simulator, part efficiency puzzle. The beauty of the game is how well it merges all of these elements into one cohesive play experience. Playing as spirits of an island tasked with fending off the incoming colonists, players work together using a mixture of different powers to stop the colonisation before the land is overcome with corruption. The game can be played solo or with up to 4 players and works brilliantly in all player counts. While you do have to spend some time getting your head around the rules, Spirit Island offers an excellent level of ‘brain burn’ and with a multitude of spirits with unique play styles as well as a various optional challenge and difficulty settings it’s a game you’ll want to come back to over and over.
