Book Review: Orwell

Orwell

A fantastic biographical graphic novel surrounding the life of one of the most fundamental – if somewhat controversial – figures from the world of speculative fiction.

This is a fascinating glimpse into the past of a man whose work has endured but whose life has remained largely obscured until recent years. With segments written in Orwell’s own words, this book blends striking, beautiful art with stories of his life to create an appropriately melancholic experience that is not without moments of levity. The story is timely and unique, and it handles heavy subjects with delicate skill. This was an utterly enthralling book and is so unlike anything I have read in a very long time.

Perfect for any fan of Orwell’s work who wants a peek into his life, or for the reader who wants to read a different kind of graphic novel.
