Packed with irrepressible characters and overflowing with flirtatiousness, this was an incredibly fun read (though I’ll admit that it had a stronger emotional impact on me than I had been expecting.) Oh, how I wish that my anxious teenage self could have been whisked away on a European cruise and left to my own -somewhat misguided- devices.
Reading this was a bit of rollercoaster, torn between wanting to shake some sense into the protagonist and deeply feeling for him. This book was part glamorous, rule-breaking, sweet youthful freedom and part heartfelt commentary on how complicated family can be. There were passages that struck a painfully familiar chord, touching on what we owe to those we love and what we owe to ourselves. Overall, this was a cute and breezy read and I enjoyed the ride. For fans of The Breakup Lists.
