Upon A Starlit Tide

Review by Isabelle
A captivating historical fantasy that combines 1700s France with the menacing, enchanting world of the fae. The slow, exploratory narrative follows a strange young woman who seeks freedom from her restrictive society, even if she must uncover fae secrets to obtain it. The plot and romance were intriguing, but the main aspects which drew me in were the lyrical prose and the vivid world-building. Both were detailed and beautiful! Read this if you like feminist fairy tale retellings, inspired fantasy worlds and a slow pace.
