This short story collection blew me away! Some are magical realism, some are sci-fi, and some are historical. No matter the tale, Liu’s prose is powerful and beautiful, so it’s a joy to read. Every world we’re introduced to feels lived-in and real, even if we only spend a short amount of time there. I read this several years ago and I still think about it to this day – they should teach this collection in short story writing courses- and world-building courses!
