Book Review: Snake and Lizard

Snake and Lizard

Snake and Lizard is a timeless classic, enjoyed by both children and adults. I loved this book, written in a kind of Aesop’s fable style, it is a collection of simple, sweet, short stories that have a deeper meaning and often convey a message of morality.

The two characters, Snake and Lizard are a great dichotomous pairing. Throughout the book they argue over differing opinions but always manage to resolve their differences and celebrate their special, unlikely friendship.

Each story is full of humour, with the primary themes being friendship and embracing the differences of others.

The stories are beautifully illustrated by Gavin Bishop in his distinctive ink and watercolour style, successfully depicting the various desert scenes. This book is perfect for children aged 6-9 years.
