Book Review: Orris and Timble

Orris and Timble

This is a gorgeous and charming read-aloud, which my 3- and 5-year-old both loved. The first in a trilogy, this early-reader title follows the burgeoning friendship of Orris the rat and Timble, a naïve owl. When Timble’s claw gets caught in a rat-trap in the barn, Orris must decide whether to make the “good and noble choice”: free Timble, his natural predator, or stay safe in his cosy home?

This was a lovely read for my oldest who started to recognise repeating words as the book progressed – the text is simple yet charming, perfect for children starting their reading journey. Great characters, quirky details and a happy ending – I can’t wait for the next one. Perfect for readers of Holly Webb.
