This short prequel is a great introduction to the dark academia series Evocation, introducing us to a fun but realistic married couple who are a great example of opposites attracting. While it focuses on uptight magician Rhys and chaos witch Moira, we also get to see the third person who will enter their relationship in the main series, the powerful and arrogant occultist David, who also happens to be Rhy’s ex. A sweet taste-test that had me reaching for the first full-length book in this series as soon as I finished it.
