Book Review: Empire of the Vampire

Empire of the Vampire

This is a grim fantasy set in a world where the sun has darkened, allowing monsters and undead free reign to hunt humanity without fear of the light. The format of the story was very interesting, as it consisted of the first night of conversation between our main character describing his past as a vampire hunter, and his vampiric historian captor. This is not a terribly nice book, as the world gets increasingly dark and depressing as the years pass. However, there is plenty of fast paced, exciting action, and the story is remarkably intriguing. If you want a grim story about monstrous vampires and undead, and those few attempting to save the last of humanity before it is wiped out, then give this book a go.
