Book Review: Counterfutures

Counterfutures
Review by Maia

A collection of essays, interviews and research texts that are both informative and deeply moving, with more life, energy and vulnerability than most academic writing. Counterfutures imagines a revolutionised future with a focus on community work and organised resistance, connecting the reader to the mahi of others in Aotearoa and their own possibilities for transformation. This journal always pulls me out of a scholarly reading rut and reinvigorates ideas of postcolonial leftist theory with innovation and creativity.
