Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil

Review by Angel
Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil follows three lesbian vampires throughout the centuries, exploring how their transformations shape and strain their humanity. The novel moves seamlessly between their points of view; not once did a shift feel jarring. You get to know each character fully before another person is introduced and it was switched to their story. Every sentence feels deliberately chosen, each word carrying weight and intention. The core themes of hunger, grief, and the cost of survival on the soul are handled with a haunting elegance. This is my favourite book so far this year!!
