All the Young Men
by Ruth Coker Burns
Review by Genna
A beautiful but heartbreaking memoir about allyship and creating your own sense of family. In conservative Arkansas, Coker Burns created a safe space for many queer men during the AIDS crisis in the 1980s and 1990s. Educating herself and others she ”risked it all to care for the dying” despite the attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community at the time.
