A Real Piece of Work
by Erin Riley
Review by Ray
I loved, loved, loved this collection of deeply personal, warm and intelligent essays which explore (among other things) radical social work, gender identity, the complexity of family, and mental health. Many of these essays are ones I’ll want to return to often. This is a thought-provoking, engaging, big-hearted book.
For fans of Ivan Coyote, Olivia Laing’s Everybody: A book about freedom and Maggie Nelson’s Argonauts.
