Game Review: Catan

Board Game: Catan
Review by Josh
Catan is an evergreen board game, beautifully designed to always feel competitive and fair but with enough uniqueness between games to keep you coming back. I’ve played Catan at family gatherings for some casual enjoyment, and I’ve played it with focused flat mates for tense nail- biting competition, it works well in both settings. While dice rolling adds un-predictability to each turn, the ability to trade with other players and choice of where to place your settlements allows you to customize your strategy and come out on top. If you’re ready for more of a challenge Catan also has an excellent range of expansions to bring new elements to the game (Psst, get Seafarers – its fantastic.)
Complexity 2.5/5
