A thoroughly entertaining, fast-paced story of one girl’s rise from obscurity to leader and Queen of Galla. Inspired by West Africa and set 1000 years ago, with a rich tapestry of characters who are either friend or foe of Kalothia. Feminist ideas and push-back at misogynist men who have no faith in Kalothia’s ability to lead. Great world-building. Excellent for 14+
