Mina and her mother are on holiday in Japan. While on a bus in Kyoto, a woman folds paper into a boat and a bird and gives them to Mina. So begins her journey discovering the ancient and the new. In the wonderous city of Kyoto, she sets her boat asail, only to discover it in the hands of a boy she had already met.
