Junji Ito is arguably one of the most influential manga authors out there, especially among fans of horror. Famous for his intricately detailed illustrations and unsettling story collections, his career of nearly 40 years has forever changed the genre. Uncanny is a wonderful exploration of this journey, following his evolution from his first experimentations with illustrations to his current status as a legend. Simultaneously a biography, an inside story of the manga industry and a behind-the-scenes look at how he creates his stories, this is a fascinating read for any fan of Ito’s work.
